This episode saw the Straw Hats takeover the Ryugu Palace in a bid to defend them. But whether they would success at this is hard to say because of the 3 princes who were on their way back.
The Ryugu Palace has seemed to create more problems for the Straw Hats with them being accused of murder and everything that brought up including the Luffy and Mermaid issue. Zoro returned to the group and the new Fish-men all joined in to create a confusing and sometime hilarious set up that just meant that they would be taking all the wrong steps possible at any given moment.
Only the stories could stand alone and still make sense but ‘One Piece’ has a way of joining everything together to create one mega piece of a story.
Zoro’s arrival seemed to have given them the impetus to go ahead with their planned attempt to scare the Fish Men. But typical of them, they took it too far and ended up taking over the palace which was something they never really intended to do in the first place.
Zoro wanted to dash and grab approach of just going in to get out as soon as possible but that idea may have well been overtaken by events. Now they are forced to act since the sons of Neptune are coming back and it won’t be funny when they come to find that the palace has been taken over.
It was comical to watch Zoro complicate matters even further with him answering the phone especially when he is trying to cause things to be scaled down. He has this nature of just dropping the glasses even when he had no intention to. He is not the type you would send in to diffuse a bomb. He has a very good heart and likeable personality but he is not cut out to handle some delicate matters.
The princes are coming with new for both Zoro and Luffy because Jumbei does not want Luffy to go after Hordy who is the new leader of the Fish Men pirates. Things are setting up nicely and the episode has helped the story.
