Through Sentomaru it is revealed that Kuma is powerful enough and has the ability to make people fly through the sky to places far away. Kuma then uses this ability to make the Pacifista and the rest of the Straw Hats crew disappear.

Luffy is unable to save them, despite his best effort to protect them, while Rayleigh is still occupied dealing with a pesky Kizaru. Before delivering the final blow and the last nail to the coffin, Kuma tells Rayleigh something but he is rather reluctant to believe it. Kuma then teleports a despairing Luffy away and completely defeating the Straw Hats!
