The Straw Hats finally arrive at Duval’s base, and they are unnerved by the silence that surrounds them. They find Camie’s fishman friend locked up in a cage, but it does not take long for them gang to recognize him as Hatchan, formerly a member of Arlong’s crew.

Luffy does not want to help him, and Camie and her pet Pappug are forced to deal with the problem themselves and rescue their friend on their own, only to be captured by Macro Fishermen Pirates. This is when finally the Straw Hats crew decide to help, but they realize too late that such an action is what the enemy has planned all along, as they had fallen into the trap that Duval had planned for them.
